Wonderful. I wish I could grow that plant at all let alone so well. I look forward to more photographs.

Default Fuukiran:

Here is a Chosen Tetsu that is grown mainly for its foliage. It is actually considered one of the more difficult fuukiran to flower.

Wow Steve, that is awesome! So why is it and what is it that makes one neo harder to grow and flower then others? I would figure a Neo falcata is a Neo falcata regardless of what variation it is?

Fabulous plant, Steve. Do you grow yours outside under a tree? Or are they indoors under lights? How have you been giving them the lower temps they need during winter in your location?

Thank you. I grow them indoors in an Orchidarium and also in an east window. I do open a window this time of the year and take them down to around 60 degrees.

Hi Steve,

Nice looking neos you've got there...thanks for posting your pics.

I've got one little one I've been growing for about a year and a half now, and hopefully it will bloom next year for me. Of course time will tell, but I haven't been protecting it from cold this winter (it rarely goes below 40 here, and even below 50 is uncommon), and I've also cut back on watering it...from daily to about once every 3 to 4 days.

Steve, which one is that in your avatar? Looks like it maybe a variegated one but I can't see clearly on the photo. That's so cool you're into oriental calligraphy! I'm envious you can probably write all the Kanji names for your fuukiran beautifully on the tags!!

WOW! I can't wait for mine to get that big. Yours are beautiful.

I am still on the hunt for a yellow one.
