Default Took the Plunge!

I'm am fairly new to the board - had been lurking, devouring information for some time before finally posting

anyway - after reading much about neos I decided to take the plunge! Arrived today! Is potted in coir in clay pot. Normally I re-pot as soon as I get a new plant, but was able to lift the entire plant and coir out of pot and everything seems to be in good shape there lol - is it ok to let it be? (haven't used coir before)

also - my ortho orchid book says medium light for neos, and orchids for dummies says 'bright' light = don't know which windowsill will be it's home -

I look forward to hearing everyone's advice, tips, and opinions please! lol

Yay, another Neo grower! Several us here are neo crazy, we can't have enough of them! Can't help you out about using coir or not, I have never used that stuff before.
Here's a bit of info on Neos if you want. Fuukiran (Glenn from New World Orchids) started an interesting thread a while ago on winter care of Neos
Growing neofinetia falcata in winter months

And also the Neo care sheet on the NWO website :
Culture of Neofinetia falcata

Do you have an of your new Neo? I just love these guys!

thanks for the welcome and the links camille!
pix of my new chid
- foliage is red-ish, seems to be 'speckley' hope this is not a problem ? I am presuming it is from receiving high light and nothing to worry about but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong! - I hope they wil anyway!

plant appears to be happy - two newer smaller growths and roots appear healthy

all input, advice, tips, and opinions are greatly welcome!
thanks all!

While not an actual Neo fanatic, I have 4 and I think the color I see is about perfect. Your plant looks very happy.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)
