Default Growing Neofinetia falcata in winter months

Winter has arrived in the USA! This is an old thread but worth re-reading, especially the very first post from Glenn Lehr "Fuukiran".

I hope you continue to do well Glenn and are enjoying your third or fourth retirement?

Just some more thoughts on Winter. Now that I am starting my second Winter with my Neos, this second Winter comes as a relief from all the trials and tribulations I experienced this past Summer.

Summer was too wet, too cold, with not enough warmth between rain to dry out. I did not intervene by bringing them inside where they could get dry, warm air. My plants experienced a lot of root rot and decay of vulnerable young fans as a result. I brought them inside a month earlier--September, so the could dry out.

In recovery from all of the rain, my plants have slowly come back to good health--growing new leaves and roots. Many have shown new fans.

Now it seems Winter arrives a month early too. I'm watching my plants carefully to see when I can shift them into Winter mode.

I have about six hybrids and they do not rest during the winter. Four of them are in bloom now. They can also get pretty large as evidenced by the photo.
