Hey LinhT,
I knew I was close on the name, we talked about both of those and I mixed/combined the names, they are both beautiful orchids and I plan on adding one to my next order.
Thanks, Mike

Where do you get these plants. I have never seen variegated neos offered for sale outside of japan, and I dont think I want to pay 1000-5000 a growth for a midget with a stripe.

Variegated Neos are available from two places that I know of in the US. A lot of us got our Neo Project plants at New World Orchids: New World Orchids Neofinetia falcata
LinhT got her plants from Orchid Web:
Orchids from Orchid Web
One of the most affordable striped variegated (Fukurin) Neos is Higashidemiyako, a nice sized 3 growth plant is around $50.

I can hardly wait to hear back from Glenn at New World Orchids about a variegated mini bean leaf that I am hoping he has or can pick up in Japan! I get all my Neos from Glenn.
I wouldn't get them anywhere else. . .he's been a great friend to us here at the Orchid Board. The orchids I've received from him have been amazing.
Now about that 'Kuro Shinjyu' (Black Pearl). . .WOW!

Which variegated bean are you waiting on? If it's Manazuru, I may wet my pants.

Just heard back from Glenn about the Manazuru! He's sold all the ones he had in his greenhouse but he said that these grow to about a 6 inch leaf span, similar to the Mangetsu. He'll be looking to bring back some more on his next trip to Japan in Feb.
So, if I start saving now, I should be able to afford it by then!

I didn't know it but that's the EXACT one I wish I had! I love love love it. . .love the gold green variegation!!!
I may have to go with a back up, affordable plan though. . .Looks like the 2 growth is around $270.00!
Soooo, might have to get the $50 Issuhime next.
It's not just the big prize box he provided. . .it's also his incredible plant knowledge , his great plants and his kindness to us in all things! He's just a great person to work with! I am happy to support vedors like this when I can.
