Just received from Barampung. Any information on the parentage of this plant would be of interest.

The pictures of its flowers come from Barampung's website and the other picture is by me after receipt and potting.

It's a selection from a cross between an unnamed pink flower hybrid and Manjushage

Thank you Hakumin. It is a weird one. I hope I can bloom it. If I ever do, I will post a photo in this thread.

I liked the individual blooms but the jumbled presentation was totally off-putting. Took a chance hoping that culture or additional maturity would help. I am quite relieved how it worked out, even the color is deeper.

I took the picture now instead of waiting for all buds to open for fear the older blooms would start fading.

All blooms have 3 spurs and buds with 3 spurs developing.

The spike must have been initiated prior to receipt but not visible at the time. There was a small spike visible which aborted within a week of receipt. Perhaps that gave the plant impetus to accelerate the growing of the second spike.

I found the rapid growth of that spike totally remarkable. The plant had exceptional roots. I found the situation very hard to believe. The picture taken today approximately 2 months after receipt, not one and one half months. I did baby the plant giving it a lot of attention as I always do newly acquired plants.

This might sound silly or trivial but when there was good sunlight and the medium did not need any more water, with my sprayer I dribbled water on exposed roots which were bent in such a way as to hold water droplets underneath as well as spraying some water along their length.
