Regarding your comment about having to adjust watering if it is a cloudy day, is this something you practice for just Neo's or is it a general rule for watering all orchids that are grown with natural lighting? Also can you tell me why you recommend this? I used to grow under plant grow lights indoors but recently moved my orchids to a greenhouse that I heat year round. I do not provide supplemental lighting and if I am going to water early in the day then the only days I have to water my orchids is on Saturday or Sunday sine I working during the weekdays and I often cannot put off watering during the winter if it is cloudy since there are not many days of sunshine during the winter here in Idaho.

Becca,

Sometimes it's hard to determine if a plant needs watering, so if it’s questionable, I don't water on cloudy days since if it needs it, it won't be that stressed to wait, especially in the winter.

If you can only water on weekends, using my logic, the best you can do is hold off on Saturday if cloudy but not Sunday.

I grow primarily neos. I only have about 40 plants and I customize my watering as to how (spraying light or heavy, or sink watering).

If plants have gone without watering for a long period of cloudy days, my hand is forced to water, usually a spraying, not sink.

How is your Musashi growing these days, YuphyLoveOrchid? I am thinking to try that cultivar.
