An easier way to copy the URL is to create your post with the photo attached normally, then click on the image to enlarge it, then right click/ long tap on the photo to get the menu to copy the image location. It's easier than muddling around with a small file upload window on a touch screen.

For your 'invalid code' issues, are you doing really using insert image and not insert link by mistake? It should work, I'm not sure where your problem is coming from.

“Insert image” and “insert link” are unavailable commands. The closest I have are “paste” for the copied url. To the best of my knowledge there is only one copy command.

The insert image and insert link buttons are here:

Once you tap on insert image, this box comes up and you long tap to paste the URL here:

Hakumin,

Just tried it and all it did was form a tiny light grey square in the post, no large picture.

What do you mean by “long” tap?

That means the copied URL wasn't correct.

Firstly, I apologize to the OP for the thread being hijacked.

Shoreguy, After you upload the image, you'll see the link to the image here:

Tap the link and it'll open the image in a new window:

Copy the URL from the top, tap back to go back to your message and paste it into the insert image dialog box as mentioned before. Make sure that the "http://" is not duplicated by deleting the one that's already there before you paste.

The images in this reply were inserted on an iOS device in the same way that you would be doing it on your iPad.

As for the long tap or long press, it's just the usual way to tap and hold to bring up the menu for copying and pasting.

Hakumin,

Gave it one more try.

Tapping the link does not display it in a new window but just displays the picture on a blank screen.

I feel I have wasted far too much of your time on this for me. I apologize for bringing this up.

What you have provided hopefully will enable others to display larger pictures than thumbnail.

I will not pursue it further but your effort was appreciated.

Thanks again.

Hakumin,

Instead of tapping the link, I held my finger on it which did open a new page and I then copied what it gave and went back to the previous page and proceeded as described.

So it seems like the issue is not to tap but to slow tap on the link.

See my post on Neofinetia Kibana.
