Angraecum germinyanum is in bloom again. It is the second time blooming.

It has weak citrus scent at evening. Faint, but definitely fragrant.

At glance the flower looks like to be non-resupinate (that lip goes up); but upon closer inspection, it is actually a case of hyper-resupination. The flower bud develops as typical resupinate flower but at the final stage the pedicel (the stem with ovary on which the flower is attached) twists itself, doing 180-degree turn, so that lip ends up on top.

Lovely display and form of the bloom. I'm currently growing a small scottianum which bloomed last yr and a florulentum which appears to have many buds. Germinyanum will be my next acquisition if the orchid gods continue to help me with what I've got! I'm drawn in to the long nectary and waxiness. But I'd like to know your culture of your plant. TY

I grow it in semi-shade, along with Phals. In my balcony the temperature gets to 35 degrees celsius day/24 deg. C night at summer, and 25C day/13C night at winter--it can take both hot and cool temperature just fine. This particular species does not seems to mind even colder temperature (it survived sudden drop to 8 deg C).

I mist it daily during spring and autumn, twice a day during summer months, and occasional misting during winter that the plant does not shrivel. Also I fertilize with liquid fertilizer weakly-weekly.

Beautiful and look at all those growths! Mine is just now starting to wake up and it’s starting to do something. What? I’m not really sure. But it’s doing something, besides dying, so that’s good
