Angraecum sesquipedale blooming
Two spikes and four buds produced this year on this easy-growing species. The waxy blooms are very fragrant during the evening, but to be honest, it's not really a fragrance that I enjoy. Kind of reminds me of either shampoo or soap--not necessarily a bad smell, just not all that great either. The fragrance of my Angraecum eburneum's flowers is much nicer. Still, sesquipedale is not a temperamental plant, blooms reliably every winter, and (barring the occasional foraging grasshopper in the summer) isn't bothered by pests and diseases.
