Happy to report both Spanish Moss and Didieri are thriving in the kitchen window.

Didieri even is producing new leaves and two new shoots. Here is a photo of a new shoot! Or is that a bud??? Woohoo either way!!!!

That is great
Could you please post a picture of your whole window set-up? I also grow in my home. I want to put shelves or something on my kitchen window. It is a double casement window that cranks out. I have the ledge maxed out. I want to go up

Dear Hubby made them from quarter inch acrylic (edited: plexiglass). They're resting on wood blocks on either side. Before that I had suction cup mounted shampoo bottle holders. When you water you periodically need to re-press the suction cups. Here's a photo of that:

Not as nice looking but easy.

I had to laugh, SJF. I love my husband but he isn't handy, either. I do steal his plastic shelves (that don't require any tools to assemble).

GardenTheater, I love your shelves and set up. Congratulations on your didieri. I love the roots on these guys but the flowers and their nightly fragrance are just divine.

Got them from Bed a Bath and Beyond. They're made by OXO. You might be able to find them online too.

Thanks Leafmite! Hubby did a really nice job and I wasn't much help. I had asked for wood and we argued. LOL. He was right to let more light in with plexiglass. Agree the bumpy roots are great. Hope the buds keep getting bigger and open soon. I've read posts where they just sit there and do nothing. You gotta love orchids.
