Default aerangis biloba

Only 1 spike this year (the 2nd. shriveled up for whatever reason), but well worth the wait. The coloring of the flowers is deeper than last year's, and they seem to be bigger as well. Photographed in its terrarium.

You have beautiful blooms....the reason why you got bigger flowers and brighter colors is because the second spike was sacrificed by the plant and blasted it....otherwise both spikes will have lesser quality flowers; hopefully next blooming cycle it will have enough energy to sustain two spikes....I like the Spanish moss touch in giving it moisture.

Thanks Bud. The Spanish moss is essential in my dry conditions. I get up early to be able to mist all my mounts before going to work, and still I often come home to 40% rh. so that extra help at the root level is very necessary.

I suggest you invest on a humidifier that has a hose to your terrarium so you need not wake up early....you just care for it when you get back from work....

Thank you all. It smells wonderful at night! At the moment it is the only fragrant ang. in bloom, but hopefully there are more to come. I have, in the last few years, allotted a good part of my discretionary spending money on terrariums, from nano to med. The idea was to create micro climates for minis, that would be easy to manage. So far so good. I can move most of them around, have a suitable cleaning and watering schedule, and they last! I enjoy creating mini-gardens.

Well now, since you used the plural mini-gardens, we want to see pictures of some of you other terrariums. I don't recall seeing your posts in the Terrarium Gardening forum.

Cheers.
