Default Aerangis Culture Poll

Being new to the Aerangis, I wanted to take a poll to see how everyone prefers growing them. I know it depends on your conditions, but just overall, how do you prefer to grow them?

I think with the Angraecoids (Angrecum, Aerangis, Jumellea, others), the question is not how the grower prefers to grow them, but how the plants prefer to be grown. Some Angs just do not tolerate potting at all and some do not tolerate mounting.

Angs are gorgeous, but most of them are really picky and intolerant about the conditions and growing methods.

I have Aerangis citrata growing in S/H since long ago, and it really seems to like it (growing much better than when I had it mounted), however I always have buds blast

same applies to Aerangis luteo-alba var. rhodostricta

but Ithink, my problem is not having high enough air humidity for Aerangis

Thank you both very much. I think due to my luck of having naturally high humidity for most of the year, I will try out the mount then. I have a perfect cork bark mount just waiting for the perfect opportunity. I will get it mounted this weekend.

I appreciate both of your responses.

If you decide to mount the Angs, the general rule is that for species with thinner roots, mount with sphag. For thicker roots species, mount it bareroot

I think mounting should be the best since their blooms are mostly pendulous, otherwise any other way works actually.

I'm growing my Aer. luteo alba rhodostica in a vanda basket with CHC mix. I don't have a particularly humid environment for it. The RH in the room during the summer peaks at around 65-70%. It goes a bit higher in the winter. I only water with distilled water as I was told they are very picky about water quality. It's blooming right now.
