Like many I find pictures a massive help in identifying what's happening with orchids. So here's a series of pictures I took of my Angraecum didieri from when it put out a flower bud to when it flowered. Apologies for the picture quality, they're cell phone pics. Please, don't look at the nasty grotty string the plant is tied on with. I'm an amateur and was afraid of cutting the plant free even though I've had it for over 2 years. The string has since been removed on the advice of forum members.

These last two pictures are from today, 3-4 weeks since the flower dropped, and it has two new growths. One for sure is a bud as it has a flatter front edge than a root which is rounder. The other growth I'm, not so sure but time will tell. It might be another bud because it's much slower growing than a root, or not. The roots on this guy grow like crazy. A few weeks ago I cut off all the strings attaching it to the mount and changed the mucky moss and it's not budging, steady as a rock. Hope the pictures help others like me who rely on them for so much information in our orchid growing efforts.
