Default Heat mat use??

Does anyone here use a heat mat to warm there terrariums?
I am thinking of using one as the temperature here in winter is getting VERY cold and summer temps in my apartment are rather mild.
Would this work to keep the tank warmer and therefore better growth, Im thinking the roots of the substrate plants would enjoy it and it would help create higher humidity.

I am looking at the Exo Terra Desert Hesat Mat that I can attach to the underside of the tank.

Exo Terra : Heat Wave Desert / Terrarium Substrate Heater

Any thoughts or experiences, problems, successes would be greatly appreciated

Heat mat use??

I use a larger heat mat for our phals to keep the roots warm since our house gets about 57 at night in the winter it works well. is is 2x4' so as long as the mat will not too too high it should work well.

I committed and bought a 20cm x 20 cm heat pad to put on the base of my 30x30 Exo terra tank.
the temp of the soil has raised to a stable 26˚c or 78.8˚f. The humidity has risen to 70-85% during the day (higher at night) and the air temp has risen by 2 degrees to what it was before.
So far everything seems to be working well, I will see how the plants respond over the next few weeks.

Glad to read that the heat mat is doing a decent job of warming up your tank! I had seen your earlier post but didn't respond since I don't have a tank and so no useful input.

What sort of plants are you growing in it?

Firstly, stunning photos! They are beautifully shot.
