Thanks Shannon The Texas Hill Country is home to over 45 wineries and vineyards and Fredericksburg is the epicenter of the Hill Country wine region. There are more than two dozen wineries and tasting rooms located in Fredericksburg. Wine production in Fredericksburg dates back to the original settlers who used the native mustang grape to produce wines. Lots of eating places and shopping to do in Fredrickburg.

Sounds great, I'm getting tired of this cold spring. But it will get here at some point. I would love to visit a winery. I have never thought of Texas as wine country. A little history lesson, thanks.

Sinningia muscicola (rio das pedras) blooming. This is a great mini plant with a large flower for the size of the plant. The leaf cluster is about the size of a dime, always room for two or three in a terrarium with orchids. Can be grown on the floor or back wall.

Next time you go to Tucson go south to Sonoita and check out the vineyards there. Some are truly excellent, and others have really nice views from the tasting room.

Bj, I’ve considered trying a Sinningia in my Exo Terra a time or two, they are so cute. Where did you fine this one? It seems to be very happy in your tank.

I recently had to remove one of my favorite plants (Pleurothallis rubella) from my tank as it was getting too large and cramped causing the plant to be misshapen. I now have a nice area for something small growing on the floor.

I believe you have the rubella as well, constantly flowering and a great little miniature. My plant was not mounted, set in a net pot into the Leca and moss floor. It was a great choice for my terrarium, I hope to replace it with something I will enjoy as much. Do you have other Sinningia besides the muscicola?

Mike at Glass Box Tropical has several different ones. I see that several of them are out of stock. He normally has them off and on. I like the Sinningia muscicola (rio das pedras) as it is quite small. I have had several different one, but muscicola is my favorite. I have Sinningia (bright eyes), but it has never done well. I have had it several years, but the leaves want to brown. It's at the bottom of the tank so not to much light, maybe to wet. I have another musciola on the back wall that I had thought I had loss, but several months later it came back from the tuber. Hope you find one.
