This may help to show how the vine fits in behind the cork tree stump. This is the right side of the tank and the left side. It is difficult to get good pictures because of either glare from the lights on the tank or room lights or windows.

Charles, google search Bittersweet it’s really cool to see it but it can wipe out a lot of trees in the woods. Some of the vines I’ve seen were as big around as my leg, you can even find it hanging like a swing to sit on.

Grab a chocolate bar and search for Bittersweet! It seems to like areas near lakes and streams. I’ve seen posts of people making tables and chairs using this.

Thanks we have bittersweet in Kansas. The ones in Kansas have a red berry that is poisonous. If I make a new terrarium sometime I will have to use this. I really like the looks of these vines. I guess that they have held up well if your tank is a year plus old. This is a very beautiful tank.

Yes I am going to scour my yard and wooded area and take some pics too, maybe I'll even show you.
I am pretty certain I have this out there all over the place, wasn't sure of what to do with it or it's name.

Have been a little hesitant of messing with any vines around my trees after I ran into some kind of ivy, oak or zumac bout a few years back.

Will search for that chocalate bar later!

Awesome for decoration but if it's Oriental Bittersweet, it's an invasive exotic. It kills trees and seeds everywhere. From experience...

I agree Dolly, very invasive and I’ve seen large stands of trees completely choked out by this. If I had this growing on my trees I would cut it out. Some of these vines are huge!

As for decorating, this would look so cool in a large terrarium. A simple google search will show you projects that have been made with Bittersweet, lawn furniture, garden trellis, simple tables and chairs.

The same bittersweet that gets orange berries in the fall/winter?....I always thought it was shrubby and not viney ......your setup is amazing and inspiring
