I've been working on this for a month or more, trying to do something different. I originally wanted this without any background but that proved to be a problem with cords and enough space for mounts.

My idea is an old tree stump in the woods against a bluff wall of wood and plants with moss filling in. The moss still has some growing to do.

I've moved plants, added plants, changed out plants and I think I like where it is right now. I have a Pleurothallis macroblepharis blooming and a Scaphosepalum rapax blooming along with the cute little Begonia vankerckhovenii just beginning to open several flowers.

I've had a lot of fun with this and even though it might not be to anyone else's liking, I feel like it works for me.

I tried to use the pictures in my gallery, they are much better there, but I couldn't manage to do that and I keep getting timed out. I'll add a couple more pics. Right side.

I think it's very interesting. THere is a lot going on and it would keep me looking at it all the time.

The background for this is the ugly one that came with the Exo Terra and I hacked it down to about half its original thickness. I added vines across the upper portion of the background to create a bit of a ledge. Between mounts I've added live moss from NEHERP and some coco fiber.

The floor has Leca and forest moss on top. There is no water feature, I mist daily. For now the plants on the floor are in their basket pots. I have two Exo Terra lights with two 26 watt full spectrum daylight bulbs 6700k and these seem to be doing a good job. The temperature and humidity stay close to 80 for both during the day. At night the temp drops to low 70's and humidity is a bit higher. I have not added a fan as yet but may do so. There have not been any issues with mold, plants seem very happy and have been in here for weeks.

The big vine has a bit of Spanish moss draped on it to help with moisture on the planting. I believe the vine is Bittersweet, collected from a friends property.

Thanks Tindomul! There is a lot going on, it has been interesting to watch plants put out new roots and growth in the short time they have been in there.

Being a small tank there are little niches you find that have changed or grown from just a few days prior. It is its own little world.
