Default Terrarium for miniatures

I just finished building my new terrarium for orchid miniatures. I was tired of killing lots of small/medium pleurothallis so I went for it! Exoterra 18x18x24.

Took me over a month to build it an hour here and there with all the supplies from a local reptile shop. Wish me luck hope I don't kill all the miniatures I am going to invest in! Looking to get different mosses and ferns as well. Pm me if you have any.

Nice background! I just bought my first Exo Terra 12x12x18 and I'm still trying to figure out a layout. I have plenty of orchids to plant it, just need to do some planning. What light are you using? Oh and good luck!

Pattywack the planning was the hardest part trying to picture what I wanted to look like and knowing the outcome would be different. In the end all the green colors are going to block your background. The light is a led for an aquarium but will also get the exoterra hood with CFCs!

Interesting, and correct all the green will block the background. I initially wanted no background at all just a tree stump a bit off centered, covered in orchids, a couple growing out of the top, plant a few on the floor of the tank. I have a large cork round about 13" tall to use, need more wood, branches. Still planning, lol. I now have decided a background is necessary as I want to hang mounted orchids so I have hacked the Exo Terra background down to a respectable thickness and plan to go ahead and add it.

I'm enjoying the planning, not in any hurry and it is nice to have this tank to move some of my plants into rather than kitchen windows. I like your light, I have the Exo Terra hood with a 26 wt CFL full spectrum daylight. I'll watch for updates on your build!

Hey! This is really looking nice! Are you going to keep water in the bottom? What orchids did you use? It looks like an orchid valley, I need to get busy.
