Default About to get started

I just ordered my misting system and planting media for my orchid terrarium. I'm so excited to get this going. So far, it's cost more than I wanted to spend, but I think it will be worth it in the end. I'll be able to grow more species plants and not worry about forgetting about watering them. This is something I should have done a long time ago. I also won't have to worry about my mom murdering my precious orchids while I'm on a road trip with my sister.
I'll go this weekend and buy the great stuff, sealants, and grapevine pieces that I want. I can't wait to share the result with you guys!
I"m eternally grateful to you guys.

I bought 23-watt (100W) Daylight CFLs and two lamp hoods to place on the top. I hope it's not too much. But, I anticipate some trial and error in the beginning. As long as it's done and everything worked out by June 1.

I'm so excited over this project.

Sounds cool! I look forward to seeing the final result. Be careful with grapevine, though, in my limited experience it tends to mold and break down quickly in high-humidity situations. Cork bark is available at many pet stores and works much better in terrariums. Or if you'd rather forage for wood than buy it, red cedar/juniper, crape myrtle, rhododendron, and blueberry are good mounting woods that look nice and last a long time.

Dang, I should have read this sooner. I bought two grapevine pieces today. Is cork cheaper than grapevine, because those pieces were expensive! My question is, how would I mount the orchids on the background? Can they be mounted on the great stuff, covered in moss and coconut core?
