If you are looking for information on using an aquarium chiller and radiator/fan to cool a growing case you can check this thread of my case. My case stays at 22 celcius (with water cooled to 13c). I grow lepanthes among other species quite ok. I problably would get it cooler if I had a larger chiller. Some chillers (aquamedic/Hailea brands) can chill as low as 4c - you need to research that before buying. A chilling experiment I dont recommend you use a nano-probe chiller. It wont pull the water temperature down more than 2 or three degrees I think.

Hi all,
Minicatt, those plants look nice! I'm presently setting up a somewhat similar system, but my space is dearly limited, so the mechanics differ. I've got a 2.5 gal. tank (I cant believe my plants used to fit in there!!) which will be used for the evaporating chamber. A scrapped dirt devil impeller fan will generate a pressure head in the chamber, to assist the tank's exhaust fans in drawing air. This is based on my need to modify, rather than construct a new tank (not ORCHIDARI... wait cant say it...)
Also, the plan is to use a high density paper evaporator, owing to the relatively small surface area. All in all, it should cool (and humidify) my two
tanks, and be relatively unobtrusive to boot. Soon, I will have pictures, both of the cooling system, and the new tank. My orchidari... growing tank thread is here.
