Question Orchids and Tillandsias over an aquarium?

Hi All,

this is my first post so please be patient with me
My spouse is growing orchids and tillandsias for a while now and I've been always playing with the thought of having an aquarium with some fish.
So I came upon an idea that could work for both of us.
Would it be possible, or is anyone of you having a setup like the following:
A 120x60x60 cm aquarium with fish & stuff in it and over it a glass box, as if an extension of the aquarium, 100-120 cm and a set of lights over it and some fans?
There would be a branch over the water with orchids and tillandsias, maybe a rock background with some pots mounted on it?
The question is if would they both survive?

Thank you very much!

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work- one consideration might be how you would feed the orchids if you're using anything besides fish poo or aquarium fertilizers.

Have a look online at people's paludariums and you might come up with some ideas.

A member on Orchid Board has riparium set ups. He has posted pics of his many ripariums here.

His screen name is Hydrophyte.

There is a member named Hoppy over on The Planted Tank Forum who has at least one mounted miniature hanging up in a riparium tank. If you look you might be able to see it in the shots in this post...
