Is this one an upturned fish tank? I didn't mean that orchidariums made of fish tanks are not naturalistic. I meant that the orchidrarium on the second page has very nice shape as against orchidrariums made of fish tanks.

Oh don't worry, I never thought you ment that. I just wanted to show that you can make a naturalistic setup out of anything. Yes it is an upturned fish tank

Magnus,
Thank you so much for your help! I just love how professional and clean looking your orchidarium looks. I hope mine looks this great! My biggest concern is that is looks great as a feature in my home so guests can enjoy it just as much as I! Simply lovely and your young plants seem to really enjoy the pampering!

Time for a Update!

This is how my orchidarium looks today. Unfortunate it is an mix of warm and intermidiate growing orchids in it and even a few cold growing that does not like it!

Plans for a second one is evolving

Great display. I really need to do something about getting more 'chids into the display. Like the racks you've set in there.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

If I have!
In my experience the roots penetrate a epiweb slab within a couple of weeks! They just love to dig deep down in this material! I can post some pictures tonight (Europeen time) and tell about my experience of epiweb in a new thread!
