Default Photo Update of Orchidariums

Here is a link to all the pictures I took of my most recent layouts of my two orchidariums, and I snuck a few in of my plant stand as well. The larger orchidarium is my Grand Cayman and the smaller is an Exo-Terra I converted. The plant stand I purchased online. I was having issues posting these pictures to my .mac Gallery so I wasn't able to add comments, it is probably just that I am not familiar with the process yet and it is late. So if you see something that concerns you let me know. One thing that may catch those who are observant is the Dendrobium in the bottom left corner....it looks like it is over potted with just one p-bulb, but the root system was soooo huge I could barely fit it into the 4.5 inch pot! And I also have a few seedlings I just received and haven't had a chance to pot yet that are at the bottom of the orchidarium also. Anyways.....enjoy the photo's! And just to warn you, I kind of went over board with taking pictures. Please let me know if you have problems viewing the pictures!

Becca, your orchidarium looks great I especially like the green wire grid you have on the three sides. Did you get that with the orchidarium? I put sheets of coconut husk on the back wall of mine to give it some pizazz. I notice you have some of the mounts hanging in the middle how are you doing that as mine doesn't have any holes in the ceiling? Now I have to find some grids like yours I like the way they look and it gives you lots of places to hang chids.....

Looking good Becca!

Sheridan

Really looking nice Becca, but I see a few empty spots just hungry for new 'chids

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Thank you for the wonderful comments!

Ross, you see empty spots? How did I manage to miss them? LOL.

Sheridan, the green wire grid came with my larger orchidarium, but I also purchased a role from Hope Depot but I can't remember the name of it, but it should be in the same general area where the fencing is, I want to say it is called hardware mesh or wire mesh or something like that. I have been taking wire cutters and snipping the roll down into sizes for what ever. I have noticed some rust on the ends where I cut, but nothing major. And it is a secret to how I am hanging my orchids.....hehe just joking. In order to hang the shelves there is a channel of sorts that runs around the perimeter of the orchidarium inside and also two in the middle. I either use S-hooks or just bend the wire hanger attached to the mount to fit into the channel.
