Default 90x45x90 Exo terra paludarium. I have questions

I cant seem to take a good photo. It looks better in real life I swear.

My questions are:

What orchid is this with the yellow flower? it was sold as Lepanthopsis astrophora x peniculus, but it doesn't look like it.. unless it has a virus or something?

Is it okay for moss to overgrow the orchids? if not, how do I stop the moss out-competing them and suffocating? its really hard to manually remove without ripping the roots.

cheers!

I think that you can put your mind at ease as far as virus is concerned... getting a flower that doesn't look like what you ordered can either be the variation that happens in hybridizing, or a mis-labeling by the vendor (super-common occurrence) I found some pictures labeled as Lepanthopsis peniculus that were yellow, whether the IDs were correct, no idea - but if that's what was used in the hybrid a yellow flower becomes actually very likely. Not sign of disease. I'll leave the ID to others, but the whole setup looks great!

I can’t ID, but it’s a beautiful setup! I don’t grow in a closed environment. Just common sense would say they grow in the wild with moss, etc, and I wouldn’t worry. But someone with terrarium experience will be along. I think it looks wonderful!

Moss can outcompete the tiny ones - I have to keep an eye on Dendrobium parvulum, Dendrobium lichenastrum, and Barbosella gardneri. If it’s covering pseudobulbs or leaves, I just cut it back with small scissors. If it’s not covering parts of the plants, I don’t worry about it and leave it alone. In fact, healthy, green moss around plants in a terrarium is a good indicator to me that I have the right amount of moisture for Pleurothallids specifically.
