British Soldier Lichen lighting? Male
Default British Soldier Lichen lighting?

My 1st plant orders for my terrarium are starting to arrive I went nuts and ordered a British Soldier Lichen before doing my due diligent research. Now I can't find literature on whether to put it in shadier or brighter light. The terrarium get's a little indirect sunlight plus LED lights. I know these guys are a unique combination of fungus & algae in a mutualistic association but that only makes my understanding foggier.

You paid for that? Here it grows EVERYWHERE! It grows in partial to full sun here in central PA. Ime lichens rarely thrive indoors. Here's a little but growing on my nextdoor neighbor's fence:

I think it was smart to buy it. In some places, it can be illegal to collect flowers and other growing things on federal and state lands and going onto someone's private property to collect it might not please the landowner. Good luck with it!
