Sorry for all the posting, Wi-Fi issues. Anyway, I have two glass globes, see below... Would like to plant some orchids in them. I have looked throughout these threads and I see more complex set ups, I am looking for simple. Online I see that some people are using charcoal, Spag moss and pebbles in the bottom. My main question is how to water and get good drainage, or is misting enough? this will be sitting in a south facing window, partial sun during the day. I do have some plants ready, two out of four are on the approved list. Thanks so much!

So it really depends on the plants.

I would always make the bottom layer chunky and include charcoal to promote goo drainage and prevent stagnation

I have a large outdoor terrarium bottle that I grow aloe and vanilla in and it has a layer of sand at the bottom to hold extra water since it gets quite hot outside.

Ok, I have an angraecum didier, a small epidendrum and 2 other small orchids that are hybrids (memoria vida lee and renantande cherry rose). I just don't understand the watering, I don't want a lot of water pooling on the bottom. Maybe it's just trial and error for me, I figured I would mist daily and try to keep the humidity up as much as possible.
