The mistking has been seamless. I got the starter from Glass Box’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale and it was completely worth it. I do still have to water a few things in pots weekly, but 85% of the watering is taken care of automatically.

The hardest part has been sourcing distilled water during a pandemic. Most stores were out or limited to 1 gallon per trip. I use 1 gallon a week. Finally I found a place that sold me 12 gallons! One of these days I will add a RO system.

If I pick up this bowfront, I might have to see if I'm brave enough to drill it for a drain...

Careful on that one CObirddog... some of them, especially a bow front, tend to use hardened or tempered glass. You'd be better off with a false bottom. You can put a piece of airline tube on the bottom, and if you need to drain just drop it down into a bucket.

I love my MistKing. Set it and forget it. I like reptile foggers for a more "open" environment, but a mister will be better for a closed tank setting. The fogger tends to be more "intense" in a more closed setting, requiring more air movement. And it won't assist as well as a mister you can direct toward certain plants and avoid others.

I definitely did not drill mine. Too terrifying! It was hard enough to find a tank at a good price to risk it.

I’m used drilling glass. But I sure would afraid it would be tempered glass.

I had the same issue. Then I signed up with ReadyRefresh
Other than a couple of glitches they have been keeping me in Distilled water.
