Sad news for the orchid world...Jim Clarkson :(
It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement about the untimely and unexpected passing of our friend and AOS Judge Jim Clarkson
Sadly, Jim passed away this morning after a brief illness.
A huge loss to his family, friends and the orchid world.
Most people in Florida orchid societies know Jim as he was a judge at many many shows over the years and also made a name for himself with the plants he grew personally.
It was truly an honor to know him and he will be missed by all. I will post memorial arrangement information as I get it.
Rest In Peace Jim

Now I know who you are!
I love the fact that I've met some of my best friends through our common love/obsession of orchids
I think we, as orchid growers, won't feel the full effects of what a huge loss the orchid world has taken with Jim's passing for quite some time.
Things will be different with our TOC meetings and shows... and Florida shows in general will be missing a man who was an integral part of the proceedings
I've been working on the chids this week, getting them ready to go back to their normal places on the lanai and around the room...and I find myself doing a lot of the stuff I learned from Jim at our meetings. I can hear his voice and see that little smile he had when he was teaching us something with each plant I blast some pests off of
He's keeping an eye on all of us and running the big Culture Club in orchid heaven, for sure
See you soon
