Can phaleonopsis sanderiana have mottled leaves?
Default Can phaleonopsis sanderiana have mottled leaves?

I received a phal tagged as a sanderiana, but everything I have been able to find on sanderiana has not shown mottled leaves. I will post a picture when I reach the post count.

---------- Post added at 01:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:27 PM ----------

The phal currently has roots without the velamen, and had an erwinia infection, affecting the top leaf. It looks like I have it currently under control. Hopefully I can get it back to good health so I can see a flower to help with ID.

Attaching picture to compare.

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

I don't know the answer to your question, but other people here do. Hope you get the infection under control and your plant grows on.

I'm not sure if I would call it mottled (like P. schilleriana or P. stuartiana), but the leaves have a slightly marbled pattern with deeper green and grayish green. You can see the photo of leaves here: phal. sanderiana

Hmm. The leaves on my plant do not look like the leaves in that photo. I'll try uploading a picture.

Mottled leaves leading to believe it is not sanderiana.
