@annak, well, not recommended to try unless one has experience which I have with bonsai, spikes are stiff and can break, or some are so thin. I read some arguments in an older post here against it as not being acceptable orchid society practice, but I do it anyway for my newly mounted upside down phals. Otherwise, they'd be pointing downwards, water dripping all over the flowers when watering or fertilizing. New spikes that grow later should be pointing the right way next time.

@Bulbofett, yes, slightly "waxy", so the overhead light is reflected. On the second pic, at a different angle, light was not reflecting.
