Well, I guess a Bellina is a worthy species in a Phalaenopsis collection

Here is one of mine, a very old one, the mount is already colonized by moss ...

It's gorgeous! How old is it?

I have one that I purchased as a seedling last year and I was just curious as to how long it might take for mine to become a similar size to yours. It's a slow grower for me, I've thought about putting it on a heat mat to help it grow more roots.

I don't like how disproportionally large the leaves are compared to the flowers on very short spikes on these plant.

With that said, I love the colorful and fragrant blooms of this species.

Good growing!!

Thanks, folks

@RandomGemini, it's from 2007 ...

@NYCorchidman, well, I wish the flowers were bigger

On the other hand, I think a Bellina's leaves are part of its charm. I saw one where the leaves were almost round ...

Thanks

The Bellina is a favorite in our city, I think.

Here is one from another plant, the start of something beautiful ... this was taken 2 day ago, and already half open today ...

* bellina - "a girl's name meaning "beautiful" and is a variant of Belle (French): variant of Bella."
