I love them too now. They are so easy to grow and keep blooming. I used not to cause the flowers are small compared with the very showy hybrids we get in stores but this is so fragrant and the colours so beautiful. My blue is going to bloom again.

Some trivia :

"Formerly known as the Bornean variety of Phal violacea, was only elevated to species rank in 1995 [on the basis of distinct floral fragrance and other morphological differences - floral colour, measurements and shape (i.e. formed by the apices of the three sepals)]. Noteworthy for the "purists" is that Phal bellina is still tagged as Phal violacea in many nurseries, local and abroad alike, and numerous such plants are actually hybrids made by crossing Phal violacea with Phal bellina.

The Bellina is the State Flower of the East Malaysian State of Sarawak. On a single spike, the flowers are sequentially produced and open one, two or even three at a time. If well taken care of, a Phal bellina plant can be in flower for a long period of time."

Here is the bud shown earlier in bloom, purple slightly presented differently .... just as fragrant, intoxicatingly sweet . Someone should make a perfume from this, like the Javanica ...
