Default Equestiris just starting to bloom

This is the first time it has put out a side shoot. It hasn't bloomed for 2 years and when I re-potted it last year it put out 3 keikies. When it started to spike the crazy thing started growing back into the stem.

I had to very carefully pull it out. The roots of the keikies are growing all over including coming out of the stem. It has also lost 3 older leaves but I think this was because of the roots and spike coming out above them.

I love this thing.

Very nice! The color is just perfect! Of course, I must say, they look so much better in life than in photos. When someone brought one into our OS meeting, I was hooked and had to get one immediately. Congratulations!

Thank you both once again. I know a picture just doesn't do them justis. I would like to have some of the other colors. Leafmite is yours this color or different? I was not sure what my color was because it has been 2 years since it has bloomed.

And I lost my other camera card that had the last pictures of the blooms. I also want a peloric one.

Mine is a seedling so it hasn't bloomed yet. It is just labeled equestris so I don't have any idea on the color. I hope it will look just like yours, though. The problem with these is you can't just have one.... I think I would like an alba next.

Very nice! Once those basal keikis get going you are going to have quite a show!

I agree, you can't have just one! I have the 'Orange' cultivar, the f. aurea, and 'B#100' which is an exceptionally dark pink. I lost my regular one, so will need to replace it.

Very nice. What do you have it potted in? I got a Dpts. Dyah Redita 'Hawaii' which has tons of growth with basal keikis but badly needs repotted. The roots are much thinner than my other pyals so I don't want to put it in bark. I may do a lava rock and coco husk chips.
