Default Phal. philippinensis

Another one of my mottled leafed Phal species is flowering. It's a small plant (although it actually has flowered earlier) so there's only three flowers for now. I hope to be able to increase the number of leaves on all my mottled ones, since they seem reluctant to grow any.

The flowers are surprisingly pink (I don't know if it's visible in the photos, but they're a pale pink and not pure white) and I love those yellow lobes.

Gorgeous!

This is one of my favorite Phalaenopsis species. When I first got my plant I grew it too cool for the first 5 years of having it which responded with slow growth. After growing it warmer for a couple years it now puts out 2 to 3 leaves per year.

Yeah, I think it's a combination of too low temperatures and not enough light. I hope to amend this somewhat this summer.

I have one with a small spike on it, and I would be VERY pleased if it looked similar to yours! I also have a stuartiana in small buds, and am excited to see them both. They will be my first non-novelties to bloom from my own care!

Thanks Bill! I don't know if I like this one over the stuartiana, I am no fan of white flowers after all.

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I have a stuartiana in bud as well, but it's a rather old plant I think. The spike is ridiculously long, 90cm last time I measured, and this for 14 buds...

I'm a little fickle, my favorite flower is usually the one that's in bloom.
