Need Advice on Phalaenopsis Schilleriana Male
Default Need Advice on Phalaenopsis Schilleriana

I am planning to buy Phalaenopsis Schilleriana recently and came across all sort of different variants. One of the more popular and expensive variant is Phalaenopsis Schilleriana TKB (supposedly originate from a the TKB region in the philipines i think). It is suppose to be fragrant and fast growing. this is why it sells very very well here in China. Does anyone in this forum has more information about this plant?
How long will the bloom last?
Does it have strong fragrance or just a mild fragrance?

I grows relatively fast, the fragrance isn't as strong as a bellina and the blooms last for months.

I'm not sure how to answer you sequential bloomer question. The blooming starts on the spike closest to the leaves and eventually works its way to the tip of the spike.

No it blooms once a year but the blooms last for months.

Phalaenopsis schilleriana TKB I have looked at the flowers and they arent any better than any of the other cultivars. TKB im guessing is the cultivar. What makes a cultivar is an award for the flower and then you have the right to name the cultivar of the plant. Bec its a 'TKB' doesnt mean its going to be a better flower than any other schilleriana or cultivar.

The blooms do last for months and brooke yours look wonderful as my schilleriana look like poo as many others Ive seen. Great smelling flower. Light honey scent.

I will say bec you are asking for advice on an expensive plant. You might try a run of the mill plant for test run. An expensive plant doesnt mean you are going to get high dollar flowers from it. So dont be conned into an expensive plant thinking its going to have great looking flowers for everyone who buys one. Just my experience its not going to happen...

Thanks for the advice. TKB is supposed to be the region that the flower grows in nature. I don think it is a cultivar name.

I was aiming primarily at the scent and the flower count of this cultivar. The flower it self is just ok. If i am aiming for flower form and shape, my bet would be on hybrid phal.

Do you know how long the blooming last?
