Very pretty bloom Ron.
Is it possible that this might be a cross? I'm thinking that it looks alot like Penang Violacea which is violacea x micholitzii and is often mistaken and sold as violacea var. alba.

Thanks for commenting, Judi. It came from a reliable source, so I wouldn't think it was a hybrid, but I'm not that knowledgeable on Phals.

Its a lovely flower. I love the monochromatic hue of the silken petals that shimmer in the light....

Thanks, Bud. I think I'm going to hire you to come up with poetic descriptions of my flowers.

Phal. violacea var. alba (bellina?) Male

Hmmm, I don't know about this. I know that violacea and bellina alba can be hard to differentiate, but I don't think that this is Penang Violacea, as the lip would be much more angular on the sides. I do know that it is nearly impossible to get a violacea alba that has decent form that is not actually a hybrid; most have micholitzii and bellina in the background somewhere.
