Talking P. equestris 'Orange'...

As a few of you might know I've been participating in an auction figuring a young equestris 'Orange' and a keiki equestris 'Blue Lip'. The auction is now over and they are both mine. Mine! MINE!!!!

They'll be shipped at the beginning of next week (week 11 that is) since the temperatures have decided to drop below freezing point this week.

Wheeee! I'm so happy I barely know what to do with myself!

I've finally gotten my hands on a P. equestris 'Orange', I almost can't believe it...

I hope they'll both enjoy staying with me and the rest of the gang and that they'll grow into big (as big as equestris can get) and happy plants. I'll update this thread when they've arrived.

You must be sooooooooo happy that you've won both that you wanted. I'm sure they'll be very happy with you and all the other chids.
See how quickly one turns into many!!??!!

Thank you!

I'm thrilled to have won them both and I'm never participating in another auction ever again... Man, those last minutes were nerve wracking! Especially in regards to the P. equestris 'Orange' since I wanted it so very badly, the 'Blue Lip I just wanted badly.

I'm emotionally and mentally drained at the moment, too much excitement is apparently not good for me.

Judi, if the four equestris I've had for about three weeks are anything to judge from, I think they'll like living with me since these four guys have had some massive growths on their old roots. Usually I can't tell if the roots are growing or not except that the tips look green and healthy, but on these guys it's really easy to tell since there's a sharp definition between the old and new growths (on one of them the roots have even changed size and become fatter - it looks ridiculous ).

Camille, if it gets any keikis you know where yours might come from and the same goes for you Dan.

Now it's time to go to sleep and dream about my little equestris...

Default Finally...

Here they are! They were a bit dehydrated from the travel here, and I'm worried about the 'Blue Lip' keiki since it doesn't have many roots. It has two more than is seen on the picture, but that is still not enough I feel. The good thing though is that these four roots look very healthy which is good.

The 'Orange' on the other hand is a very healthy young plant (I think it's approximately 18 moths if I understood the seller correctly). Let's see if this little guy is interested in blooming.

I hope I can get little blue to grow some more roots and that its leaves will firm up - they are a bit too soft to the touch at the moment, but hopefully that will change in a few days' time.

Mutant, I wouldn't worry too much about 'Blue Lip' - the roots it does have are nice and thick and the leaves look good. Put it in lower light and don't water it much for the next week or two to make it grow more roots.

Thanks for the advice Rangiku. The thing that made me a bit worried were the condition of its leaves. They're slightly wrinkled and floppy. After my brush with stem rot, I'm paranoid when it comes to wrinkled and floppy leaves. But I agree. The roots are few, but thick and healthy looking which is why I decided not to use Superthrive on it. If it deteriorates, I will, but not until then.

They have been placed in my quarantine area a.k.a my cheap chest of drawers I have in the kitchen Here they will receive a bit lower light than the rest of the gang.
