Its making a new leaf right now!!! when i got it i saw something in the crown and i was wondering if it was dirt or something and i noticed that its getting bigger so i know its a leaf!!! now that its growing in higher light we will see if the mottling is increased.......Fingers Crossed!!!

Normans said that the last time it bloomed the stem was 3 feet with about 30 flowers. he also said that it should set multiple spikes so it could be a 60 flower show!!!! again Fingers crossed!!!!!!

Congratulations on your new shills yes that is huge I do have some but I have to start from the beginning which is small plants then grow it to 13.5 leaf span now (one leaf). Getting it from the mail that big already is great, enjoy it and happy growing . I would say if plant is that big that means it's happy and would reward you with a lot of blooms.the mottling part there is not really prominent but for sure that's a schill with that flat silver roots that I could see on one of the photos - your schill is a var purpurae right? I bought some small ones and their mottling is also not very prominent compared to the other schills that I have maybe its really this way for the var purpurae but ry to expose it to more sunlight maybe it will change.is it ok may I ask where did you get this huge shill?

Oh wow oh so it is probably inherent in this variety that the mottling is not prominent..
I got the Schilleriana from Normans orchids.
