Recently this species seems very popular here.
These spikes are a little bit long, after these flowers fall down, should I mount it or not?

One of my bastianiis is mounted, and thriving. I think it's a great candidate!

You are right! It is good to mount with big bark for those who easy to have keikis. When these keikis grow up, you will get a "phals jungle" on the bark

WOW! All these bastianii posts are making it hard for me to be patient with mine! I think I finally noticed a change in mine today from when it arrived. The tip of the spike has grown a little bit more. It might appear to grow faster if I would stop looking at it for 5 minutes. I just can't help myself! It's so pretty even without blooms that I just want to fawn over it all day!

Edward, yours is truly magnificent! All those wonderful blooms! What a gorgeously well-grown plant!

It looks great, there are so many blooms! I had no idea that the spikes got that huge on these. Maybe I shouldn't get one. Yet! It would probably do well mounted, since most phals seem to love it.

Camille, it is very easy to have keikis, maybe you can share it from someone. I got this from my friend.
It was from a big cluster with countless spikes.
One thing I worry about is the spikes are to long, they almost touch my ceilling.
