I was without japonica flowers last year but not 2019!
I kept it quite dry and cool (under 60 average temp) for most of winter which seems to have done the trick!

Nice! Yours has really strong bars on the sepals, it's very attractive!

Beautiful photo! They are so cute and so conveniently compact. I just recently acquired one and I'm hoping it will bloom for me one day.

How beautiful, thanks for sharing! It's fragrant, if I remember correctly? I got one 2 years ago, and it's finally in spike for the first time. I can't wait to see the blooms!

Yes, it's got a lovely, lemony fragrance that's quite strong in bright light. It's been cloudy the last couple days though so I haven't gotten to enjoy it as much

I have a seedling of Phal. Little One (Phal hygrochila x Phal japonica) back-crossed to japonica that is just starting to take off. Can't wait to see what that looks like.

I wish they had simply left them as Vandopsis parishii and Siderea japonica....

That sounds like it will be a really nice hybrid, Ray. I can't wait for you to share it when it does bloom! I recently acquired a Phal Little One for myself too and hope I don't have to wait too long for the little leopard flowers.

I agree on the naming sentiment, too. I feel the same way about Neofinetia et al. Sometimes I just call them what I want regardless of current nomenclature
