What could this new growth be?

Two of my phals have some bright green growth. The one in first and second pics has the growth at the tip of an existing root. And the one in third and fourth pics has this green nub which is growing from the base. Any guesses on what these coule be? They dont have the typical shape of root tip.

When I try to open your thumbnails into a bigger picture, I get the following message:

I've never seen that one before.

Edit: Disregard above. I tried again and this time I'm able to open the pics.

At this time of the year it might be a flower spike...but the photo is too small.

The growth from an existing root is likely a root branch, that is just coming off from the existing root.

The other feature you mentioned - hard to say at the moment ------ it could either be a developing root, or it could be a flower spike, or even a side-shoot new plant growth.

Okay. I tried again and I can see them. They all look like root tips to me, especially the first two pics. I have a couple Phals that are doing similar things. It's always funny to see a bright green little nub starting off an old root, but it does happen.

I forgot to write ----- in any case -------- if the orchid's health is maintained - the answer will certainly become naturally revealed ----- as we'll know eventually what it is, in time.

Yeah thats what I think too that the one from the existing root could just be a root branch. It looks just so weird, havent come across this kind of growth on root tips. Second one is really small so its difficult to tell if its a flower spike or root. I really want it to be a flower spike. This one hasnt bloomed after the blooms fell off last year. It got a new leaf and the plant looks healthy.

I was able to enlarge the photos enough to see everything you showed is a new root tip.

I had a closer look too a moment ago. The whitish coloured region where it comes out from ........ is portions of root/velamen. Root tip it is.
