I've been growing orchids since the mid 70's and it's still a guessing game. Your plants and set up look great! As long as you continually try to improve your culture a little bit at a time you'll wind up with some beautiful plants and a wonderful hobby/ addiction.

Do you go to the hudson valley orchid society meetings in Newburgh? I've been thinking of joining but it's quite far for me to drive. But if they have good info at the meetings it may be worth it.

I make about 1/2 the meetings. Most of the folks are very friendly. Like anything else, some meetings are more informative than others. There are some very experienced growers there that are more than happy to share their growing advice with you. The show table discussion is very good, I've learned a lot about growing conditions from it.
You should try it.
