Not sure, Dave. The surviving plants look plump and happy and I don't think they get supplemental water unless I'm in town. I've got one of these growing mounted in my home in NC and it tolerates dry winters well. Very young plants may be more sensitive, though, so even if these set pods it's possible the seeds won't ever germinate or grow.

I seen hundreds of plants with many pods on each plant. They are self pollinating so there is a good chance they will be viable.
