@ray - without being picky, wouldn't RO water be pure?

I couldn't agree more. Going to the store and buying DI water is a huge a pita, and not economical. Driving there, and of course storing it. Not for me. Having a unit makes watering the plants and feeding the humidifiers is much simpler, and also more enviro-friendly.

It's great for the plants and with a taste filter, the water... My family and I much prefer the water generated from the system to what comes out of the tap.

Be nice - support your local hydroponic's shop.

It isn't a good idea to drink RO water. Tap water is almost the only source of calcium and other minerals in our diets. Taking a pill supplement is insufficient to replace minerals from tap water. When RO units were first introduced, decades ago, they contained instructions not to use the water on a regular basis as drinking water due to lack of minerals.

Most bottled water is reverse osmosis purified. Tiny amounts of minerals are added for taste, but not enough calcium. We shouldn't be drinking bottled RO water, either, but there's so much money to be made selling bottled water.

Spring water does contain natural minerals. Who wants to pay 20 cents more per bottle, though?
