Default How do you do a winter rest while in S/H

Hello everyone!

I have a dendrobium kingianum doing well in S/H. 4 or 5 new PB have grown over the summer and a few one are forming now.

I understand that dendrobium kingianum need a dry winter rest. How do you do that in S/H ? Do you jist totally stop watering???? Is this that simple? Or you water once a month but empty the reservoir?

Thanks

Phalguy

I have read that you withhold fertilizer but not water. Since the roots have already taylored themselves to growing in s/h you don't want to withhold water because they may suffer. I am definately no expert and am just going by what I have read so hopefully someone else will chime in.

kingianums should be watered less but they don't want a dry rest completely. Just water them once a week instead of 2 or 3 times a week.

They aren't like nobile type hybrids.
