Default phal equestris from "grodan" to S/H?

This weekend I became the proud parent of several Phal equestris that are planted in "grodan". I was told it was a fiberglass based hydroponic product.
2 questions, please.

Will this species do well in S/H? All my phal hybrids love it.

If so, since the "grodan" environment seems very wet, can I repot directly into S/H without the usual waiting for new roots?

I also have an equestris in S/H. I moved it from sphag to S/H a few months ago while it was in spike. The spike continued on growing and it has been blooming ever since. It just keeps growing new buds as old flowers die off. Currently it is also growing a new leaf. Of all the orchids I've put into S/H this one took to it the fastest with the fewest adjustment problems.

Ted,

That really makes me happy to know 'cause I unpotted these this morning and all the roots were either aerials or growing just under the surface of the grodan stuff. Anything deeper was rotted. I think it was too wet and packed too tight. Anyway into the S/H they went.

Thanks,
Maureen

Tyler,

Thanks! I thought when I posted the question that equestris should be a good candidate for S/H but it's nice to have the experiences of others.
