I have a brassidium pisgah recluse that has been in s/h for about six months, it has done alright but I think it is more due to my conditions than the medium

The medium is a minimal part of S/H culture. It's really the combination of moisture and nutrient supply and airiness that makes the difference.

That said, the brassidium should love it.

Take, for example, the wilsonara - another in the general group of "oncidium intergenerics - posted near the end of the "I'm so confused" thread.

i should have been more clear, medium was my lazy way of saying s/h culture had nothing to do with my rough growing conditions...

Yah actually I just tried to repot it and the medium farther down is fineand the roots are really healthy so I just replaced the stuff on top! UNfortunatly the spots on its leaves arent from decomposing media.. I am making a thread in pests and deseases...checck it out please
