I've noticed not only that, but plumper pseudobulbs. I remember being told at the store that for several of my plants, wrinkly pseudobulbs were normal, and that there was nothing to do about it--not so! S/H has fattened them up to the point where I'm worried about them rupturing!

OK....I am going to try s/h. I think I am probably the last holdout but everyone else seems to be doing good with it. Since I live in Central Florida, I need a media that drains fast. I have planted a division of Blc George King 'Serendipity' in the media to see how it works in my neck of the woods.

"All of these were converted to S/H within the last 2 months".

Hi, Sailor!
You seem to have a Rhyn. gigantea alba in S/H. How has it thrived in S/H? Is it still alive?

S/H stands for semi-hydroponics, a system that some of us use to grow plants.

I know. I have some in S/H myself. I just was surprised to see Rhyn. gigantea alba in Sailors's S/H list. At the moment I'm still growing my Rhyn. bare rooted, I haven't dared to put in compost - yet - though I know some grow it in bark and charcoal mix.
