From the picture the cane looks good, but if it does shrivel you can separate the shoots by cutting the cane.

A pic of the plant should give you a general ID and some (general) care instructions. A pic of the root system wont give you what potting mix to use, it depends on the plant.

Im not too experienced with phals, so I cant tell you much about the drooping flowers, but if the flowers do wilt and fall, take good care of it and it should bloom again for you with fresh flowers....
