Yes..l think you are correct...l just rembered that l cut all the old spikes off the spotted orchid....l have now located it going by the leaves... note to self... label all my orchid...

Sorry...newbie here..l only have phalanopsis orchids..in winter l managed to kill several by overwatering...

Are phals also do be treated differently in winter as now they can withstand and demand...

Yes, Roberta...l would've thought the same and even spent lots getting nz spag moss flown in from new York.. but for some reason, even though sp.moss is supposed to have anti bacterial/fungal...

Hi Roberta...l can't seem to make sphagnum moss work for me... it always ends up rooting the stem and the leaves fall off.... the orchids l have that are doing well are those that came in medium size...

My orchid has no leaves...

No crown

The stem is green inside and some healthy strong roots.

I've cleaned the black rot ..hydrogen peroxided and cinnamoned after chopping off all black parts...
